In spite of being (yes, still present continuous) in the advertising business and seeing a lot of entertaining ads (which is all I think ads should do and not try and convince us to buy things), I haven't really talked about any good advertising (although I must have a seperate post on the "mis-take" billboards that were up for a while - quite disturbing). I still don't want to make this an ad blog but I got these today and I thought it was pretty funny. They're not the funniest ads I've seen but the whole idea of a brand war is hilarious. Like we've run out of things to fight about.

Maybe this is how all nations should vent their anger instead of making bombs and stuff. This would actually work out to be more economical and there would be a greater area covered with the media outreach these days. So if country A pisses off country B because of some silly reason or threat, they could pick on each others' biggest brands. Maybe we'll hear stuff like "Flash news - The republic of XY has just announced that they have new innovative media. The Agency has actioned immediate response, let's get our minds cracking and kick some product X butt".
But then again, humans being humans, they would probably go beat up those who use the products from the enemy. Which only means we've lost all over again. Sigh. Just enjoy the ads.
