I wasn't planning on writing today but here I am because I just heard a story. It was a horrible story and I had to share it. As you know, I've done plenty of posts about how women are treated badly and all the terrible things that happen all over the world. Just the other day, a friend sent me a news article about a new law ('No sex, no food') passed in Afghanistan. Quite disgusting. I'm grateful for the laws in our country that protect women. I'm not completely partial towards women (unlike what many believe). It's just that they do have a lot happening against them. I am partial towards justice though. Which brings me to today's story.
This happened to a friend of a friend but isn't an urban legend. Last evening, a young man was on his way to a wedding in Madras (say, Nelson Manikam road area). He was trying to find the way to the church so he stopped near the junction and asked a "well-groomed" girl standing there if he needed to turn left or right for the church. As soon as he stopped, the girl opened the door of his car and got in and demanded that he have sex with her. The guy freaked out and begged her to get out of his car and she told him to either pay him Rs.10,000 or have sex with her or she will claim he raped her and then she took of her top. He continued to plead with her and told her that he only had Rs.1000 and she then asked him to go to an ATM and give her all the money he has. She said that there is nothing he can do because the police would never believe him (which is true, and she could still claim rape if he chose to have sex with her instead of paying her). The boy continued to cry and beg her for about 45 minutes and finally she took the Rs.1000 and left.
I'm absolutely disgusted at this story. I'm furious that there is nothing the guy can do without the laws protecting women becoming compromised again. This sick girl is abusing the very laws that protect the innocent thereby making a mockery of all that women have been fighting for. I pray and hope for justice. I really hope this girl will get exposed for what she is and be locked up.
In the meantime, I'd just like to tell all the men to please not stop and ask directions from smart looking women without locking their car doors first. Auto-rickshaw drivers might be better at giving directions and they probably won't try and rape men. Unless they're gay. Hmm, now they too have laws protecting them (Which is good...They're human too!).
Okay, always keep your doors locked.
ps - I only titled the post 'witches' to get people to read. My definition of a witch is totally different. :p

If its Nelson Manickam Road, then is he sure it's a "woman"? The reason I am asking is bcoz NM road is flooded with transgender hookers (especially during the weekend nights) and they have the guts and arrogance to jump into a car right away and demand stuff like this.
On a friday or saturday night if you drive across NM road after a late night movie you will find many standing on the road with heavy make up and flashy, glittering sarees. It's really disgusting and NM road is becoming the new kodambakkam of Chennai.
I'm not saying its only transgenders who do this maybe women as well but these 'witches' know very well by look of the person whether he is innocent or not. Once they realize you are an easy catch they go for the kill. All the talk about 'rape' n stuff is just utter BS. He should have just gotten off the car, locked the car and gone straight to the police.
wow, that was unbelievable... that guy shouldn't have pleaded, he should have done something else, I don't know what... but something to have come out unscathed. Seems difficult and absurd, but no one would have believed him no matter what he said... deadlock situation. I am hoping some guys will answer here... there must be some way to stop vultures like her.
I agree with Praveen lots of transgenders on that stretch and flashily dressed. But surprising that this happened early evening. As for the woman it is supposedly the world's oldest profession so I guess it will never end.

I don't know if that's true, but I heard that panders (I don't know if that's the right word for it) force 'their' prostitutes to act like that and if they don't extort money from men like your friend they'll have -only to say t in friendly words- a very hard time 'at home', too.
Scary shit. But he gave her the money? I agree with Praveen, I would have driven straight to the cops.
I honestly don't think the police would have believed him. She was half undressed and she kept daring him to go to the police saying, "let's see who'd believed you". It's possible, the cops even know about it and get paid to not do anything. She sounds quite capable of keeping the cops scared as well.
As a guy, how do you think it would look to drive to a police station with a screaming woman in your passenger seat and actually tell them and she's trying to rape YOU? It's a tricky situation.
I don't know about the transgender stuff - it's still terrible!
Apparently, the guy's door was locked but it was a Maruti 800 so when he lowered the window, she just put her hand through the window and unlocked it!
Good point about the cops... but I don't think the cops will be that eager to pick sides, and it's easy enough to get them on your side. May as well give them the 1000 bucks and get her ass thrown in jail! Guess it's easy to talk though - the actual experience would have been traumatizing. Did he have tinted windows? :-)
Wonder what her normal modus operandi is... I don't suppose she stands around waiting for someone to ask for directions.
I beg to differ here a little. What the news media does always is to publish one side of the story.
What if, the guy actually did try to play funny and then when she threatened - He wanted to give her money. It could be possible, but, we do not know the 100% story here.
To reiterate, let me give you the example of the recent Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia break up in S.A during IPL and the latter fighting over a high profile businessman's daughter (in such cases, the media, reluctantly has to publish both sides of story). But the small ones are lost forever in oblivion - after becoming awesome gossip feed.
